What is your favourite thing about Twitter?

All the Social Media gurus and Justin Bieber fans!!! (Just kidding) Twitter allows you to connect with like-minded people in your city. In the past year I’ve been active on Twitter, I’ve met dozens of amazing people, and gained access to so many opportunities I never would have discovered otherwise. There are a number of great features that make Twitter useful, but, ultimately, it’s the people who populate your feed that make the experience rewarding (especially when those relationships extend offline).

Your best Tweet:

Everyone has a different idea about what they like, but I know that my Tweet mocking of Ed Hardy t-shirts blew up when UFC was in town. I feel like there was some solidarity going on. šŸ˜‰ It’s nearly impossible predicting what people will gravitate towards, so I just tweet about things I find funny/interesting now.

If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?

I’d love to be Magneto (from the X-Men series). I’m not sure what choosing a villain says about my personality, but there’d be something very satisfying about tossing cars into buildings or twisting a bridge into a corkscrew. Also, I love that final scene in the X-Men series (Sir Ian McKellen moving the chess piece).

Your favourite place to eat in Vancouver?

There are so many awesome places to eat in this city that I could go on forever. To keep it simple: Japanese or Korean food, Lower Robson Street; Vietnamese food, East Van; Coffee, Main Street. I could easily live on Americanos and pho.

Something you do everyday?

Research. I’ve got an insatiable appetite for knowledge, so I’m constantly reading, asking questions, observing. I’ve got a restless mind that I need to keep occupied. I suspect many active Twitter users are similarly hardwired.

On a Friday night, you will be:

Honestly, I don’t have a fixed routine. One great thing about doing contract work is that I’m able to go out whenever I feel bored or something interesting is happening. On a Friday night I could be doing anything from tweaking a website’s CSS to watching a Canucks game with @dennispang.

Recommend a fellow Twitterer that deserves some recognition:

Do yourself a favour and insta-follow @Maurice. Basically every link he posts is fascinating (especially if you’re a creative stereotype like me), and he’s a nice guy in person. @designtaxi is a great account for design-related links and content.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Creative / Ambitious / Inquisitive
