These days food and fashion go hand in hand, and Sweet Bake Shop is the perfect hybrid of that! Stylish store front with beautiful desserts to match – here’s your scoop on the newest (and cutest) cake shop on the block:
Who are you and what do you do?

When did you realize you were in love with baking?
I’ve always loved baking, it’s always been an outlet for me. If I’ve had a bad day, I bake. If I’m feeling creative, I bake and decorate something. Of course, I chose to go to school for something entirely different at first – don’t we all?!
What are Sweet Bake Shop’s must-have cakes/best sellers?
Our best sellers really vary with the seasons, but I’d have to say the most popular are our Vanilla Buttermilk Cupcakes, Red Velvet Cake & Cupcakes and our Fancy Sugar Cookies. I’m so excited to open my storefront shop so I’m able to offer even more flavours and fun items!
Everything in your store is to die for! From the “press for champagne” wall décor to the polka dot pink walls – where does your inspiration come from?
Thank you! I’ve always been such a girly-girl, so anything to do with lace, tea parties, pearls and vintage pieces have a big place in my heart. I wanted to create a space where my girly side really showed (hence the pink walls), so the inspiration for my shop really came from my crazy love for the pink and the pretty.
What do you want customers to experience when they enter the doors of Sweet Bake Shop?
I’d love for customers to feel happy and excited about their dessert choices. I feel like we Vancouverites try so hard to stay in shape and be healthy with the fresh-juice this and the low-fat that, and I really wanted to create a brand and a shop where you can indulge in a pretty dessert or two – and not feel bad about it!
You’re in an (adorable) apron all day, how do you stay fashionable on your days off sans apron?
I do love my apron! If I have an event to attend, I’m usually in a simple cocktail dress and a pair of heels, but if I don’t have to be anywhere, I live in jeans or leggings, a simple t-shirt and sunglasses.
What’s in the future for Sweet Bake Shop?
We will always be creating new desserts with interesting flavours – that’s something I’m really excited about! We also have some really exciting plans for the future that we’ll be announcing as we get closer to the date – we’ll be sure to announce it to our customers, followers and friends as soon as we can!
And last but not least, what is your favourite dessert?
My favourite desserts are lemon or vanilla cake and creme brulee. I’ll take any of those, any day!
