Summer is slowly creeping towards us so what better way to squeeze every ounce out of it? Prep like a pro! In the next few weeks I’ll be doing a series of posts on how to enjoy a hassle free summer while still being super fabulous! First things first, a hassle free summer starts with a wonderful haircut. Because let’s face it, nobody wants to spend time with their hot roller on a humid day. A no fuss effortless do is a must!
Finding the right stylist is sometimes even harder than finding the right guy, and truth be told, I’m sure some stylists outlive many relationships! That’s why it’s important to pick just the right one, stylist that is. Finding someone to show your dome some TLC may be harder than you think, the chemistry, vision and trust has to be there above all else – I mean, your hair is an extension of you! Next comes the hard part, finding someone that won’t charge you an arm and a leg for a cut. I’m guilty of having spent over $80 on a cut (more than a few times, ugh!) but paying more doesn’t necessarily mean a better cut. Trust me, I’ve cried over expensive botched cuts and I’ve cried even harder when I tried to fix them myself! I wouldn’t wish that on my worst frenemy (okay, maybe a little).
“Where do I find a great stylist for a reasonable price,” you ask? Here is my secret: Chura Salon. Some of you may know this popular salon located in the heart of downtown, tucked away upstairs on Howe Street. In the recent years it’s gotten so popular that an appointment has to be made sometimes 2 weeks in advance. Okay here’s my real secret, Chura Primo. The smaller sister salon opened up quietly last year and has a more intimate vibe with about 3 chairs. Haircuts are still only $30! And wait times are obviously shorter. There you have it, the first step to a hassle free summer – a fabulous haircut!
