Farm to Table Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 12:33 pm

The Network Hub and Foodtree is hosting “Farm-to-Table Vancouver” on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 @ 7PM, at 422 Richards Street. This event will feature local merchants to meet some businesses that lead the farm-to-table movement in the most beautiful city on Earth. Taste some fantastic foods and learn about the farmers and the Earth who provided the harvest. Sounds like a great time to me!

For the first few hundred thousand years humankind knew exactly where food came from. There was a close relationship between hunter and prey, gatherer and bounty, farmer and harvest. But somehow, in the last few decades, humankind just lost it. Beyond the fact that milk may contain more growth hormones than certain baseball players (looking at you big headed Barry Bonds) and genetically modified veggies may be insect-lettuce hybrids, it is simply difficult to fall in love with food when you don’t know its origin.

Farmstead, Seeds of Plenty, Mogiana (TBC) and Dao Tea will be featured as some of Vancouver’s farm-to-table foods.
