Fan Expo Vancouver lived long and prospered this weekend as tens of thousands of fans of all ages descended on the Vancouver Convention Centre at Canada Place for #FullFrontalNerdity! Cosplaying as their favorite characters and discussing all matters of fandom, they came in droves to meet their favorite comic book artists, writers, and celebrities from TV and film, with legendary comic creator and cultural icon Stan Lee drawing legions of his brigadiers. The Generalismo himself joked saying, “You know what? Next time I do a hero I’ll let him come from Vancouver, how’s that?”
Along with the two day convention, the 2013 Canadian Video Game Awards were held at Canada Place Saturday night, showcasing the best in world class entertainment developed here in Canada. The Official Fan Expo Vancouver After Party was held at Vancouver Fan Club that same night as well, with both drawing huge crowds.
Cosplaying and costuming is always a special feature of comic conventions, and this weekend’s Fan Expo Vancouver was no different. Take a look at some of highlights of the amazing fan created costumes, unique attractions, special guests, and a few extra surprises 🙂
