A screenshot of a fake tweet first posted several days ago has been making its rounds on social media this morning.
At first glance, it appears to have been made under Christy Clark’s Twitter account, but the tweet was clearly a fake although some suggested on social media that her account might have been hacked.
One of the main points of criticism by BCTF supporters is on Clark’s decision to have her young son attend a prestigious Vancouver private school.
The fake tweet also coincides with recent news that private school enrolment has risen by 4.9 per cent as a result of the strike.
Up until this week, the Premier has been relatively quiet in public on matters dealing with the ongoing teachers’ strike.
She made several Tweets on Sunday to reaffirm her stance and address the failure of both parties’ inability to reach a deal before the first scheduled day of school. On Wednesday, both Premier Clark and BCTF president Jim Iker countered each other by holding ‘dueling’ back-to-back press conferences.
1/4 Unfortunately, the BCTF rejected our offer to reopen schools while the two sides enter mediation to reach an agreement.

2/4 Instead, the BCTF is sticking to its strike and demanding twice as much money as everyone else in the public service has received.

3/4 That’s not fair for the 150,000 dedicated women and men who have reached long-term agreements with affordable raises.

4/4 Class comp. is priority #1 — more educators helping more students. BCTF or CUPE, it doesn’t matter because students’ needs come first.
