The K-beauty phenomenon is huge right now, and if you haven’t heard of it, where have you been?

Starting with the basics, K-beauty refers to the Korean influence on our skincare routines. If you’ve seen any K-beauty adverts or products, you already know that this sensation is all about a flawless, youthful look.

Sure, you can watch all the YouTube tutorials out there to try and master K-beauty makeup yourself, but there’s nowhere you’ll learn better than where it all started — South Korea. Filled with spas, beauty tours, and makeup master classes, it’s a destination for beauty and wellness that needs to be on your list.

Round up your friends and start looking up flights to Seoul where you could be embarking on this five-night beauty tour with Royal Scenic.

Where It Begins

On your first day, you’ll fly to Incheon International Airport in Seoul where you’ll meet your local representative and transfer to your hotel. You’ll have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure so you can explore the city’s must-visit spots and indulge yourself with delicious Korean cuisine.

Seoul K-Cultural Day

The second day of the tour kicks off with breakfast (naturally) before you’re picked up for a full-day tour of Seoul where you can immerse yourself in Korean culture. This includes visiting the Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village (a Korean traditional village with a long history).

You’ll visit Insadong arts and antique street in the heart of the city and the 500-year-old Jogyesa Temple where you can join the temple program, before visiting the nation’s first permanent traditional market. Gwangjang Market is famous for various snacks and food, especially its delicious Mung-bean pancake (Bindaetteok), make sure you try it!

Full K-Beauty Day

Day three starts with the most important meal of the day before you head out for a full day of K-beauty. You’ll visit Myeongdong, one of the primary shopping districts in Seoul where brand name stores line the streets and alleyways. After this, you’ll participate in a K-beauty makeup class with a professional artist and learn how to do your makeup like a Korean star.

This is followed by a relaxing 70-minute skin care spa, with a one-on-one skin consultation, a head and neck massage, a decollate massage and a two-step facial treatment.Next up is a visit to Garosu-gil, where you will find streets full of designer, haute couture boutiques and trendy cafés.

K-Wellness Day

Your third full guided day starts with a trip to Gyeongdong Medicine Market, located in Northern Seoul. It’s one of the largest ginseng and herbal medicine markets in Korea. Learn about Korean oriental medicine at the Herb Medicine Museum before visiting the Medicinal Herb Tea House to enjoy the beauty of Hanok and Korean herb tea with a 20-minute foot bath and 30-minute healthy energy moxa cautery (Korean traditional therapy).

Later in the afternoon, you’ll get to participate in a Taekwondo experience before visiting the Jjimjilbang-Korean Spa to sweat and relax as you enter various heated rooms, each one designed with a particular theme.

Explore Seoul Solo

The first couple of days of your tour will be guided as you head out on private sightseeing tours as per your itinerary. During this time, you’ll have a professional English-speaking local guide with your group. So on your fifth day, you’ll really have the chance to use your newfound Korean language skills as you explore the city yourself, at your leisure.

Lastly, you’ll have some time to enjoy Seoul the next day before you depart Incheon Airport to fly back home to Canada.

If you’re interested in experiencing this K-beauty tour for yourself, now’s the best time to book your trip because select travel operators in BC and Alberta have partnered up with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to offer beauty-related packages.
