Sometimes, the best vacations go beyond a beach chair and constant calls to room service.

While many vacation hotspots have endless kilometres of white sand and warm, blue water, just as often do they have an entire world and civilization to explore.

For some, it’s hard to find access to that. Tour guides can be expensive or simply take you to dull, cookie-cutter spots, lacking in their own personality.

Cities like Mexico City are full of energy and constantly blending elements of tradition and innovation.

Thanks to Hayo Magazine, they’re making it a lot easier to discover the world behind the beaches. After a highly successful first trip, they’re inviting 12 people to join them on a “creative immersion” experience to Mexico city.

Hayo Magazine is a Canadian indie magazine for creative minds. They focus on curating and publishing work that’s focused on travel, arts, culture, and curiosity.

By getting to see Mexico City with a travel magazine, rather than a tour guide or beach resort, travellers get a unique perspective on the area. It focuses more on discovering the creative process behind a new culture and looking at a destination behind the sand and resorts.
