UPDATE: The medical emergency has been cleared and regular service is resuming.
EARLIER:
A medical emergency at Marine Drive Station has caused significant delays on SkyTrain’s Canada Line.
The incident began at approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. Trains are currently operating from Waterfront Station to Oakridge Station as well as YVR Airport Station and Richmond-Brighouse Station to Marine Drive Station. A single shuttle train is running between Marine Drive Station and Oakridge-41st Avenue Station.
It is not known when regular service will resume.
This is the second major Canada Line service disruption this week after Tuesday’s train fire, which was also located in the vicinity of Marine Drive Station.
Free public transit service for New Year’s Eve is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. tonight and will last until 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
