One of the newest breweries set to make its mark on the Vancouver craft beer scene is Strange Fellows Brewing Company, and they want the public’s help in choosing their final brand design.
Strange Fellows is one of the latest, in a long line of craft breweries opening in East Vancouver. Located on Clark Drive the brewery is the brainchild of Aaron Jonckheere and Iain Hill, a passion project Aaron has been cataloging for the world to see via his blog I’m Starting a Craft Brewery. Aaron has been extremely open about the process of starting a craft brewery along with all the challenges he’s faced.
The brewery is finally starting to come together with the acquisition of the space at 1345 Clark, and his partnership with Iain Hill, the resident brewmaster of Yaletown Brewing. Strange Fellows looks to be one of the larger breweries in the area with a 30HL system, retail space, barrel aging room and full views from the tasting room. It’s an ambitious project and one that is sure to be noticed once it swings into full production. Just looking at the size of the space they’ve purchased, Strange Fellows is going to be a huge contender right out of the gate.
As for beers, expect to see a strong emphasis on sours and Belgian style. With a lot of space dedicated to barrels, a lot of opportunity exists for Strange Fellows to experiment with different styles.
But the most important reveal, is their new logo designs! Strange Fellows have two designs they are thinking of using, and want your help in determining the final winner. Below are the two designs, each with their own pro’s and con’s. Which do you think deserves to be the final product?
