In light of inflated housing prices around the Metro Vancouver core, more and more people are moving eastward in search of affordable housing. Cities like Coquitlam and Surrey have experienced an influx of movers, cementing them as the up and coming players in the housing market. Enter Evolve, the second of six towers to be built in the West Village by WestStone Group. With units starting at a jaw-dropping price of $93,900, it’s almost too good to be true. Perhaps the cherry on top of it all is just how affordable Evolve’s mortgage payments are shaping up to be.

Working together with their lenders and Macdonald Realty Platinum Project Marketing, WestStone Group recently announced a promotion for the first 200 purchasers at Evolve. Buyers are looking at an entire first year’s worth of mortgage payments being offered at as little as a dollar a day—or $30 a month. While mortgage payments range from $1 to $30 a day depending on the unit size and type, 90 per cent of the homes are available for under $20 a day for the first year.

Just think for a minute—the average Vancouverite probably spends around $3 for a cup of coffee every day—enough to cover the daily mortgage rate of a brand new, north-facing studio unit. Giving up your latte a day habit might actually have a concrete payout after all.
