Evo cars will come equipped with hand sanitizer for users

Evo Car Share is ramping up its cleaning protocols as the province’s reopening plan progresses.

“As BC enters phase 2 of its restart plan, some of you may be starting to get out more,” said Evo, adding that it is “watching the situation carefully.”

The service says its cleaning crews continue to be hard at work to ensure all cars are properly disinfected for users taking essential trips.

“So, if your Evo isn’t quite sparkling on the outside, it’s because they’re focused on thoroughly sanitizing the inside,” said the company in a statement.

In March, the Evo says it “more than doubled” its cleaning and disinfecting.

Customers taking essential trips should still use wipes at the start and end of the trip on everything they touch, including the steering wheel, door handles, gear shift, seat belt, parking brake, blinkers, and any other buttons.

Evo has also placed hand sanitizer in every vehicle for members to use at the start and end of each trip.

Last month, Evo allocated 250 Evo vehicles for exclusive use to frontline healthcare workers on a secondment basis.
