“Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions. Watch for updated statements,” stated Environment Canada.

The warning comes after the weather agency advised that Vancouver is in for a “super soaker weekend,” with up to 30 millimetres of rain expected to fall before Monday

The showers will continue through to Sunday night, and Environment Canada warns it will be “very windy” as the temperature drops to 1°C.

The stormy weather should clear up by Monday. Sunny skies and a high of 10°C are in the forecast to start out the new week.
