Environment Canada issues 'weather alert' for a weekend of sunshine

Environment Canada wants Metro Vancouverites to prepare themselves for imminent sunny weather this weekend.

The federal agency issues weather alerts and warnings for inclement weather, arctic air and heat waves – conditions that are typically of relative hazardous nature. But a weather alert for sunshine?

A special alert bulletin went out early this morning stating that the B.C. South Coast should expect a sunny weekend.

However, the weather alert was removed shortly after.

Environment Canada is currently forecasting sunshine throughout the weekend with highs of up to 14°C. Rain will return on Monday, mixing in with periods of sun.
