Dec 19 2017, 1:43 pm

Despite the fact of their recent establishment in November 2010, Eminence has quickly gained the respectful reputation as one of Canada’s up and coming DJ’s and producers. The electronic music duo is made up of Vancouver and Toronto musician’s, Dillon ‘DLN Emerson’ Wong and Mathew ‘Kazmo’ Kazmierowski.Eminence reached significant popularity in the early 2011 progressive house & vocal trance movement in North America and met with continued success in the year following through online media. The duo is also credited with producing songs that are considered essential in Monstercat Media. In less than a year’s time span, Eminence has released their original singles “Nutella”, “United”, “Laguna”, “Tanpopo” “Mi Goreng” and “Belgium” on their iTunes #1 chart topping compilation albums.

Their two latest releases, “Nutella” and “United”, delve into the progressive house genre and carry rising synth chords and a distinguished thumping bass line. “Nutella” begins to build tension from the moment you press play. The heavy beat rolls on laconically while a deep pulsing bass line continually threatens to maim. Although “Nutella” has a dark undercurrent across the synth line, there’s no doubt that this track fits right in basking in the rays of sunshine on a balmy summer’s day. Dutifully satisfying all cravings.

“United” definitely hits hard. With a rolling bass-line, heavy percussion and a melody that sticks with you all day, the enormity of this track leaves you with a vivid progressive house sound. Although repetitive, the deafening main beat breaks through and makes the sound engaging, with visions of a sea of fists and people head banging along to the intense build up and then going insane as the track drops in.
