
It was a logical next step.
After drawing double takes and headlines for his resemblance to Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch, Matt Ziprick found himself in some high-profile seats at Rogers Place on Tuesday.
A pastor at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sherwood Park, Ziprick was seated behind the Dallas Stars bench for Game 4 of the Western Conference Final, looking positively coach-like in a suit and tie.

Not only was he shown on the Sportsnet broadcast, but he also found himself on the big screen with Oilers mascot Hunter the Lynx holding a sign that read, “I’m the real Kris Knoblauch.”

Ziprick has been getting recognized as Knoblauch all over town, he said recently in an interview with Global News, and the encounters are happening more often during the playoffs.
He’s becoming an Edmonton celebrity of his own now. Add him to the list of famous Oilers fans.
