EAT! Vancouver Food 2012 + Cooking Festival Turns 10

Dec 19 2017, 1:45 pm

That’s right. Vancouver’s long-running festival dedicated to all things food is turning 10 years old. And what a better way to kick off the summer than returning to the new BC Place Stadium on June 1-3, where eating, cooking, celebrity chefs, shopping and sampling become the sport of choice.

On the ever-popular Food Network Celebrity Stage will be Bob Blumer, Host of World’s Weirdest Restaurants andGlutton for PunishmentDavid Rocco of David Rocco’s Dolce Vita, Canadian Living Magazine’s Food Director,Annabelle Waugh, and Vancouver’s own Cactus Club Food Architect, Rob Feenie, who makes his 10th appearance at EAT! Vancouver. Ensemble Restaurant’s Dale MacKay and the Glowbal chefs will also make appearances on stage.

EAT! Vancouver is also host to three competitions: The Western Regional Barista Championships, BC ChefsChocolate Competition, and BC Chefs Grand Culinary Salon. These make great photo opps throughout the festival, as does the Bite of Vancouver Pavilion, where local restaurants – including the Glowbal Collection – will offer signature dishes at no more than $4 per dish.

New for 2012 is the Pop-Up Culinary Centre presented by Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA), where attendees can sign up for cooking classes in advance, taught by PICA’s professional instructors. For the kids and family, Dr. Greg’s SuperChefs Cookery for Kids will be on the Fit to EAT! Stage along with circus characters to teach children about healthy eating.

The 6th World Culinary Travel Expo will have you dreaming of food-filled paradise locations while the international chefs cook-off on the International Culinary Stage. Hang with other aspiring sommeliers at seminars on the Grapes & Hops Stage with WineDiva Daenna Van Mulligen; sample wine, beer & spirits in the tasting pavilion; and learn the art of cheese at the Dairy Farmers of Canada Cheese Seminars. With over 250 exhibitors whetting your appetite too, you’ll definitely have to come back throughout the weekend.
