EAT! Vancouver 2015 unveils amazing chef and event lineup

The EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival has expanded to a full week of delicious eating, drinking, and learning, and will bring together a stunning array of culinary talent from across the city and country.

From April 26 to May 3, 2015, EAT! Vancouver will showcase a multitude of local, national, and international culinary culture through workshops, meals, and events, all culminating in a three-day tasting show at BC Place Stadium.

The full schedule of events, include which food luminaries are participating, has been revealed, and we’ve got all the details.

Ahead of the three-day tasting event at BC Place are events in five categories: Dinner Series, Hands-on Workshops, Hospitality Symposium, Pastry Tasting and Panel Discussion, and Canadian Flavours Gala.

Dinner Series

Attracting leading guest chefs from across Canada, this unique culinary collaboration between local and visiting chefs provides food and wine aficionados with one-of-a-kind dining experiences in many of Vancouver’s top restaurants.

Here you’ll find Vancouver’s Hidekazu Tojo of Tojo’s welcoming Toronto’s Susur Lee, Ask for Luigi’s J-C Poirier hosting Jeremie Bastien of Restaurant Leméac in Montreal, and Burdock and Co.’s Andrea Carlson sharing her restaurant with Connie de Sousa and Jessica Pelland of Calgary’s CHARCUT Roast House, among other equally as exciting pairings between local and visiting chefs. Hands-on Workshops

Thirteen exclusive and interactive workshops take place throughout the week that will allow attendees a rare, behind-the-scenes access to some of the city’s hottest restaurants, markets and production facilities.

Learn about gelato and pizza-making from Bella Gelateria’s celebrated James Coleridge, or go wild at the Outlandish Shellfish Kitchen Party with Ned Bell of Chefs for Oceans and Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, and The Vancouver Aquarium’s Tim Bedford. And, yes, there’s bacon: For the Love of Bacon with John van der Lieck of Oyama Sausage Co. Plus workshops for fermentation, baking, and butchering, and much more. See the full schedule here.

Hospitality Symposium

Moderated by award-winning food journalist Don Genova, chefs, restaurateurs and leading culinary influencers will gather together to discuss issues facing sustainability and ethical meats in four thought-provoking sessions.

Pastry Tasting and Panel Discussion

Join Vancouver’s most notable dessert chefs, Thomas Haas (Thomas Haas Fine Chocolates & Patisserie), Christophe Bonzon (Chez Christophe Chocolaterie Patisserie) and Adam Chandler (Beta 5 Chocolates), for a tasting and discussion about the art and science of sweets. Presented in partnership with the Naramata Bench Wineries Association, the Canadian Flavours Gala will roll out the red carpet for a well-heeled crowd of food and wine enthusiasts as top local and visiting chefs present signature dishes paired with first spring-release wines from the Naramata Bench.
