Dec 19 2017, 12:09 pm

UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been postponed.

Made From Scratch is the newest experience from The Hawkers Market team for Fall, focusing on a more holistically driven approach to the food hall concept hawkers has created in Vancouver.

Made From Scratch provides a family style event where kids are welcome with the intention to Eat, Play and Learn.

Made From Scratch will feature rotating folk music sets and free workshops happening through out the day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 28 at Hawkers Market’s stunning 10,000 Square foot warehouse 188 Kingsway the day after Hawkers Market on September 27.

Workshops will start at 10 a.m. and run hourly over the course of the day, a full schedule will be posted to Made From Scratch’s website ahead of the event. There will be plenty of food and food trucks and 33 Acres brewing will also be on site for the moms and dad’s who enjoy a craft brew with their lunch.

They have some very interesting speakers lined up to teach at the event, including Liam Lewis the Little Locavore, 12 year old wonder chef in training who will be showing off his Beet Ketchup signature. Other workshops include OMG Ceiba Gourmet on making Cajeta and how to use it, Moonshine tastings with a rum and chocolate pairing.

One highlight workshop for the kids is a magic show and cake pop workshop by Sweet Petite Confectioner Cindy Tran. This is one not to miss, especially for the kids.
