Dec 20 2017, 4:51 am

A man is in serious condition after he was stabbed early this afternoon in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood in East Vancouver.

In a release, Vancouver Police say the incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on the 2300 block of Eton Street, which is near the intersection of McGill Street and Nanaimo Street and the port’s industrial waterfront.

The man was apparently stabbed during an argument with two men who were not known to him. He was rushed to hospital having incurred life threatening injuries from the attack.

Few details are available at this time; the investigation is still in its early stages. Police have not arrested anyone and the motive for the stabbing has not been determined.

It has been a busy day for the Vancouver Police, who are also investigating a sexual assault on Oak Street and West 48th Avenue late Friday night and a shooting at Sexsmith Elementary School early Saturday morning.
