Woman fights off sexual assault attacker in East Vancouver

Vancouver Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday in the city’s Eastside neighbourhood.

According to a release, a woman was walking on Napier Street near Victoria Drive when she was approached by an unidentified man from behind. He pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, but she managed to scream and fight off the attacker, who walked away from the area.

Police have described the man as Caucasian, between the ages of 35 to 45, 6’2″ tall, weighing 200 pounds. He had short, brown hair with a receding hairline and a full red beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark-coloured hoody, a dark shirt, dark camouflage cargo pants, and possibly boots.
