An arrest has been made in the case of a woman who woke up to find an intruder standing in her bedroom in her East Vancouver home early Wednesday morning.
A 17-year-old who is known to police is in custody after he broke into the home near East 37th Avenue and Sherbrooke Street. The 57-year-old woman woke up to him in her bedroom at 2 am, and he allegedly tried to sexually assault her.
The boy ran off after being scared away by others in the home, but was arrested by police at 10:30 this morning.
Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and gather evidence.
