2 men in custody after fatal morning shooting in Surrey

Two men have been taken into custody after a fatal shooting in South Surrey.

The incident took place earlier Friday morning, at approximately 9:20 am.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the drive-thru of a financial institution in the 3000 blocks of 152 Street, near the Southpoint Exchange Mall.

Upon arrival, officers say they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency Health Services rushed to the scene but despite their efforts to revive the individual, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the two suspects attempted to flee the scene, by both vehicle and by foot, however, they were apprehended by police.

A police report says that while the investigation is in early stages, it’s believed to be a targeted incident.

The Surrey RCMP will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) as the investigation progresses.
