Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and family diagnosed with coronavirus

Actor and producer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his family have tested positive for coronavirus.

The star revealed the news in an Instagram video Wednesday, saying they’ve known about it for the past three weeks or so and feel they’ve made it “out the other side.”

“This has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family,” Johnson said.

“Testing positive for COVID-19 is much different from overcoming nasty injuries or being evicted or being broke, which I have been a few times.”

Johnson and his wife, Lauren Hashian, both became ill with the virus during a period Johnson described as a “rough go of it.”

His two daughters, like many children, had milder infections. They recovered after only experiencing a sore throat, Johnson said.

The family caught the virus after visiting with close family friends, he said. The other family does not know how they contracted the virus.

Although Johnson describes himself as “disciplined” in adhering to coronavirus prevention techniques, he said catching it proves “you just never know.”

He advised his followers to be careful when socializing with friends indoors, and to consider getting precautionary coronavirus tests before meeting with loved ones.
