Veteran BC Lion Ryan Phillips and the Granville Entertainment Group are proud to bring Dunks for Dreams to Vancouver College, 5400 Cartier Street, for the first time on Saturday, April 26 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Hosted by DJ Alibaba, Dunks for Dreams will see CFL Players take the court against some of the most recognizable faces in the hospitality industry in a charity basketball game, with proceeds benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of B.C. and Yukon. The CFL team will include such familiar names as Ryan Phillips, the dynamic Adam Bighill and Travis Lulay, and the legendary Geroy Simon to name but a few.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to give back to the community that supports us year round,” said Ryan Phillips. “We’re hoping to give a big cheque to the Make-A-Wish Foundation at the end of all this.”

“I’m excited to be involved in this great event; there hasn’t been anything like it before,” said Geroy Simon of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. “I think it will be a riot to see CFL players and DJs battle it out on the basketball court!”

For the kids there will be arts & crafts, face painting, and a bouncy castle, while the adults can enjoy a beer garden, BBQ, and so much more. With plenty of prizes and giveaways, a halftime show with a shooting contest, autograph signings and pictures with the athletes, and an after-party at The Cellar Nightclub hosted by the players, it’s sure to be a fantastic event.

“This event will have something for everyone: besides a hilarious basketball game, there will be activities for the kids and a beer garden for the adults,” said Kimberly Fraatz, event organizer from Granville Entertainment Group.
