Don’t be alarmed if you see a mass of lights hovering and dancing over the North Vancouver waterfront this evening.
They belong to Vancouver-based drone light show company Pixel Sky Animations, which will present the free show at the Shipyards on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The City of North Vancouver announced the details on social media, sharing that 200 micro drones will light up the sky at 7:30 p.m.

“Short and sweet, we recommend enjoying the 15-minute spectacle from Cates Deck or St Roch Landing, as the Burrard Dry Dock Pier will be closed from 5 to 9 p.m. for drone take-off and landing,” advised the City of North Vancouver.
Over the past year, Pixel Sky Animations has created several major drone shows in Vancouver, including for the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival, the Grey Cup Festival, the Juno Awards, and the Honda Celebration of Light.

The free drone light show over the Shipyards this evening is weather-dependent, but attendees are in luck as the forecast for Wednesday, Oct. 15, is clear skies and a daytime high of 15°C. The UV index is also set to be 3, or moderate.
However, you may want to bundle up when you head to the show as a low of 5°C is expected on Wednesday night.
