RCMP in Surrey are investigating a horrific crash on King George Boulevard that claimed one life during the early morning hours of Sunday.
According to a statement from police, the man was driving a black Saturn southbound when he hit a utility pole between 72nd and 73rd Avenues just after 5 a.m.
No one else was in the vehicle, and the investigation is continuing with police closing off the road between 76th Ave and 72nd Ave southbound.
As the investigation is still in its early stages, limited information is available. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact investigators.
