Driver ejected from truck in morning West Coast Express collision

A collision involving a pickup truck and a West Coast Express train has left one man in the hospital.
According to a statement from the Port Moody Police Department, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning at around 7:30 a.m.
Port Moody Police believe that the driver failed to yield at the train crossing, resulting in him being struck by the westbound train. He was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining serious injuries. His injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening.
The incident caused significant delays for the West Coast Express, as the train and commuters were stopped on the tracks for around one hour. During this time, first responders were managing the scene.
TransLink offered some updates about the incident as it unfolded.

Commuters on the train eventually reached their destination.
CPKC police have now taken control of the investigation.
