How you can help change Vancouver women's lives by dressing them for success

International Women’s Day is just around the corner, and one Vancouver non-profit is ensuring women and gender-diverse individuals are getting the help they need to enter and thrive in the workforce all year round.
Dress for Success Vancouver empowers women and gender-diverse individuals to achieve financial independence and personal success through professional attire, career programs, leadership development, and a strong community of support.
Founded in 1997 in New York City, the not-for-profit global initiative has helped over a million women succeed in the workplace to date. The charity came to the Lower Mainland in 1999 as the first international network member.
To commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, Dress for Success Vancouver is asking supporters to “Give to Gain” by becoming monthly success donors.

“Monthly giving creates the opportunity for deeper, more meaningful relationships between our organization and our donors,” said Amanda Sayfy, executive director of Dress for Success Vancouver, in a statement. “This support allows us to plan with confidence while building long-term, symbiotic relationships with a community that truly understands our work.
“Over time, these ongoing contributions become more than financial support; they reflect shared values, trust, and a collective commitment to creating lasting local impact for those we serve.”
Dress for Success Vancouver has helped empower over 48,000 women and gender-diverse clients into good jobs, financial independence, and personal success since 1999.

There are several ways to support Dress for Success Vancouver. The organization is always gratefully accepting donations from individuals, corporate donors, and fundraisers.
“Small, regular donations add up for the organisation having a huge impact on the not-for-profit’s ability to plan ahead.”
At the beginning of a new career, when budgets are tight and your professional life is just beginning, a small monthly donation to a not-for-profit aligned with your values can have an incredible impact.

Monthly donations begin at $25/month. They are set online and automatically given, so there’s no mental load for the donor. Funds go toward providing employment programming, mentorship, dressing services and more for women in need.
“As a career grows, that commitment and passion for social change often grow too,” added Sayfy. “Early contributions can shape lifelong relationships with giving that’s grounded in values, consistency, and the understanding that lasting change is built one month at a time.”
