A woman in her 20s has been injured and a dog has been killed following a Surrey home invasion on Sunday night in Guildford.

RCMP arrived to the house near 156th Street and 101 Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. Police believe the home invasion, which involved two masked individuals, was targeted. However, the property and its occupants were not known to police and do not have any ties to drugs or gang activity.

The woman suffered minor head injuries while a trained pit bull guard dog was beaten to death. An elderly woman was also in the home but was not injured.

Two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and their identities are not known at this time. Police do not know if anything was taken from the home and are attempting to determine if anything was taken from the home.
