There's going to be an enchanted dining experience at Vancouver's Harbour Event Centre

Vancouver’s long-awaited design event is returning to the city next week.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Dinner by Design will be taking place at the Harbour Event Centre on Thursday, November 16 and Friday, November 17. And it’s going to be huge.

This year’s event will see world-renowned designers and Vancouver talent create three-dimensional dining installations that awe, inspire, and delight. These extraordinary dining environments that are everything from lavish to romantic, outrageous to whimsical, set the stage for two days of fun and fascination.

Design veterans Karice, Fleurs De Villes, and Ryleah Shae Design, will be transforming the Harbour Centre alongside brand new designers and creatives Interalia Designs & YEW+ Design Build, Kastiele, Meraki Creative, Chrissy & Co., A.M.K. Interior Design, Trish Knight Design, and Chop Value Design. And you’ll definitely want to check out the four unique lighting installations Karice will be showcasing at the event while you’re there.

Designers Robert Blaney Design, Sherwood Outdoor Kitchens, and Kyla Ray Creative, will be mentoring emerging designers from VCAD‘s interior design program, taking them through the processes to develop a camera studio, cocktail bar, and a video game lounge. Each installation will be on display at Dinner by Design before being moved to the Daily Hive Vancouver office, where they’ll be permanent fixtures!

Now, the events.

Cocktail Art

You can go along to Cocktail Art on November 16 to mingle with designers as you wander around a dazzling display of tablescapes. There will be plenty of gourmet treats by some of Vancouver’s finest chefs to sample, paired with your choice of craft cocktails, wine, or beer. Tickets cost $75 each with a complimentary welcome beverage and you can snap up yours now via The Social Concierge.

The Gala Dinner

Attending Dinner by Design’s Gala Dinner means you’ll get to enjoy table hopping and mingling with fellow guests as you sip on cocktails. After this you’ll be seated for an elegant VIP-designed dinner executed by Vancouver’s very own Savoury Chef. It’s the classic dinner party reimagined and it’s the only place in the city where you can dine amongst incredible installations. Creatively-plated food is set to echo the spectacular design of the tablescapes and will provide another way to explore the sensory experience at Dinner by Design. Gala tickets are available via The Social Concierge, costing $300 each and include a multi-course dinner, wine pairings, as well as live performances, plus more special surprises.

Public Viewing

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the two wining and dining events, though. You can still enjoy the creative installations of Dinner by Design during the public viewing on November 17 at 12 pm. Art, design, and architecture school groups, are also welcome to attend by reservation.
