Sep 28 2016, 3:04 am

Travel the world, and support global literacy in one night by attending Destination Global Literacy on October 13 at the Terminal City Club.

Join over 250 of Vancouver’s most influential philanthropists, businesses, and community leaders and explore Nepal, India, Tanzania, and Cambodia- themed rooms, which will be filled with culturally themed decor, food, drinks, and entertainment. Guests will be taken on a guided tour of each room ‘destination.’

The fundraiser will benefit Room to Read, a global organization that supports literacy and gender equality through education in developing countries. Room to Read recently reached its goal of impacting over 10 million children.

Room to Read was founded by John Wood. At 35, Wood left his job as director of business development for Microsoft’s Greater China region to start the organization. Wood has received numerous business and charity awards and will be attending the Vancouver event.

Local business, Raven Supply has also partnered with Room to Read in support of the literacy night.
