Derrival release new EP, announce Western Canadian Tour

Dec 20 2017, 1:18 am

Vancouver-based indie rockers Derrival’s brand new EP, Departure & Arrival, has finally arrived.

The album has been highly anticipated since its first single, “Original Script,” was released in 2014 and helped the band win a top three ranking in the BC PEAK Performance Project of the same year. The group— comprised of Adam Mah (vocals/rhythm guitar), Glen Jackson (lead guitar/vocals), Dan Kozlowski (drums), Deven Azevedo (bass/vocals), and Shane Stephenson (keys/vocals) — garnered buzz this summer with their creative music video for “Original Script”’s follow-up single, “Canvas,” which saw the band dressed up in full Power Rangers regalia in attempt to save the world from destruction.

Encompassing all the signature guitar-driven hooks and synth-infused pop melodies for which the five-piece has become known, Departure & Arrival (the combined two words making up the band name) plays like a proper introduction to Derrival and their musical aptitude. The EP was entirely penned and produced by the boys themselves, with highlight tracks like “Shoes Grow Smaller” and “The Knife” showing songwriting depth and instrumental dexterity.

Derrival will be hitting the road on a tour of Western Canada in support of Departure & Arrival, with a homecoming closing performance in Vancouver at Venue on September 25. Full tour dates are below and tickets are available online.
