One of the most fashionable events of the summer, The Deighton Cup isn’t just about horse racing, it’s about crowning the style king and queen. Each year, attendees vying for the coveted award push the fashion envelope in order to reign supreme.
The Style Stakes-Best Dressed Awards, presented by Market One Media Group Inc. and hosted by SHAW TV’s Fiona Forbes, will choose the best-dressed woman and man at The Deighton Cup.
Open to all ticket holders, attendees who want to be considered for the Style Stakes will present themselves at the red carpet grandstand and have their picture taken by the Market One Media photography team.
Five celebrity fashion industry judges will choose 10 finalists (five women and five men) from the photo entries. These well-heeled individuals will be brought before the crowd of 3,000 on the 30-foot Style Stakes stage to flaunt their looks. The most stylish lady and most dapper gentleman, as chosen by the judges, will be awarded the coveted Belle Du Jour and Gallant Sartorial awards.
The winners will each receive a $500 cash prize courtesy of Market One Media Inc., present the Deighton Cup trophy to the winner of the day’s last race, and have their names engraved on the Deighton Cup for posterity. They will also become The Deighton Cup Style Ambassadors for the following year.
Themed “We’re about to get fancy,” the Deighton Cup Style Stakes Series will include shopping events prior to the Deighton Cup and short fashion focused videos to encourage the idea that getting ready is half the fun, and winning “Style Stakes – Best Dressed” is all about the details. The videos will have entertaining interviews that will be released before and after The Deighton Cup. The Deighton Cup Style Video Series will include event fashion partners Indochino, Maska Mode, Goorin Bros. Hastings Hattery, and Deighton Cup Style Ambassadors.
