Deadpool sequel could shoot in Vancouver this fall: reports

Ryan Reynolds could be back in Vancouver to shoot a Deadpool sequel as early as this fall, according to reports coming out of Hollywood today.

Filmed right here in Vancouver, the big screen adaptation of Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth has been one of 2016’s biggest hits and recently broke the record for the highest grossing R Rated movie of all time.

Given the $750 million bite that the movie took out of the box office, it has always been a question of when, not if, a sequel would be green-lit. And, if reports coming out of Hollywood today are to be believed, production on Deadpool 2 might get underway as early as this fall.

Movies website Heroic Hollywood is claiming that Ryan Reynolds has just inked a new deal to star in the sequel, a move which clears the way for production to kick off this fall. And, while Vancouver isn’t specifically mentioned in the article, you’d expect that the production would return to B.C. given the cast and crew’s ties to the region.

We’ll have to wait for official confirmation, but for now it looks like Vancouverites won’t have to wait long for another dose of Wade Wilson.
