Darth Vader falls to the Force, arrested in Vancouver for robbery

A woman donning a Darth Vader mask has been arrested following an early morning robbery.

Around 6:30 a.m. yesterday, a 23-year-old woman was walking down Wolf Avenue near Oak Street when she was robbed by a woman wearing a Darth Vader mask and carrying a handgun. The masked robber pointed the gun at the woman and demanded her cash. After receiving a small amount of money, the suspect ran off. The victim was not injured.

Following a subsequent call to 9-1-1, police launched a search for the woman and located her a short distance away, still wearing the Darth Vader mask, and took her into custody without incident. The woman was searched and found to be in possession of a replica firearm.

Police will be requesting charges for robbery with a firearm and weapons offences against a 20 year-old Vancouver woman.

“Unfortunately for this robber, she underestimated the power of the force,” said VPD spokesperson, Sergeant Randy Fincham. “We are always a phone call away by dialing 9-1-1.”
