Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are holding auditions right here in Vancouver for a chance to star in one of their music videos. But they’re not just looking for dancers.

More than 150 hopeful young talents lined up outside of Harbour Dance Studio on Granville Street for what some of them think could be a big break in their careers. Everyone from unicyclists to hip-hop dancers queued up for their moment to shine.
One young woman, Ashley, is not only a dancer, but also an acrobat and a contortionist. The 18-year-old showed us some of her moves while she was waiting in line.
The dream, says Ashley, is to become a professional dance teacher one day, and auditioning for Macklemore could be the key that opens the door.
Three other young women waiting in line are hip-hop dancers.
“Honestly, I just want to have a great day. This is kind of huge. It’s just going to be a great experience,” Hannah Henney tells Vancity Buzz.
All the performers in line were asked to freestyle and learn a little choreography for the auditions, which will continue until 5 p.m.
Good news: If you weren’t able to make the audition you can still submit a video online. Simply do one minute of freestyle, upload it to YouTube and email the link to [email protected].
The lucky few will join Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to shoot the music video in Seattle this May.
