Cypress Mountain will be opening for the 2017/2018 ski and snowboard season this Friday, November 10, the resort announced on Monday.

This is the third earliest opening in the North Shore resort’s 33-year history, according to a release from Cypress Mountain.

“We received 30 cm of fresh snow on Thursday, November 1, followed by perfect temperatures to make snow,” reads the release.

“With our recently expanded State of the Art Snowmaking System, we have been
making huge amounts of snow on the Eagle Express terrain.”

The release says the resort has manufactured 28 football fields’ worth of snow one foot deep, just since Friday, November 2.

If you want to get up there for Opening Day, Cypress Mountain will be open from 9 am to 4 pm this Friday, November 10, with 40% off lift tickets.

The High Speed Eagle Express Quad Chair accessing Maelle Ricker’s ski run (Fork) and Easy Rider Quad Chair accessing Runway ski run will both be open.

The Skate Park (terrain park) will also be open, as will the Cypress Creek Grill and Gold Medal Café. Crazy Raven Bar & Grill will open over the weekend.

Note that the Nordic Area for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snow tubing will be not be open for Opening Day.
