The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is on the lookout for new recruits, and Metro Vancouver residents could land a federal job that pays six figures, even without a university degree.
From surveillance to technical support, CSIS has multiple postings open in Burnaby right now, with salaries ranging from the high $60,000s to over $120,000. Here’s a look at a few of the roles currently up for grabs.
One of the entry-level postings is for a regional protective services officer.
The role involves ensuring the safety of federal facilities and their occupants, including monitoring access points and managing security camera systems. Applicants need either a high school diploma and four years of related experience, or a combination of college studies and work experience that adds up to four years.
The position pays between $68,552 and $83,389 and is open to applicants until Dec. 31, 2025.
For those with a background in technology, CSIS is also looking for regional technical officers in Burnaby and several other Canadian cities.
The job combines problem-solving with expertise in areas such as cybersecurity, engineering, and physics. Candidates must have a degree or a technologist diploma, plus several years of experience in areas such as network troubleshooting, data analysis, or supporting complex technical systems.
This role pays between $99,392 and $120,917, with an application deadline of Oct. 10, 2025.
Another available position is for a surveillance officer in Burnaby and Toronto.
The work centres on observation and monitoring to help protect national security and often involves time on the road. Applicants can qualify with a college diploma or university degree and two years of experience, or with a high school diploma and four years of experience.
A valid Canadian driver’s licence is required. The salary ranges from $77,427 to $94,177, plus a 12 per cent allowance. Applications close on Dec. 1, 2025.
