Craft Beer in Vancouver: Bitter Tasting Room

Dec 19 2017, 2:20 pm

You can find this week’s place to drink in Vancouver on the corner of Carrall and West Hastings. This little slice of beer heaven, brought to you by the Heather Hospitality Group is Bitter Tasting Room. These guys have a cool little venue that offers up appetizer size plates that allow you to explore with the variety of beer they have showcased on their list. Scotch eggs are a favorite as well as the trio of sausages available. Don’t expect to have a single plate for yourself and to leave full; the menu items are best put to use when you order for the table and share with friends and try different pairings with your beer of choice.

As for their drink list, Bitter has eight rotating taps and a multitude of bottles available. At the moment their most expensive beer (and in my opinion, their most adventurous)is the Rogue Voodoo Maple Bacon Ale which rings in at a whopping $32 per bottle. My personal favorites from the list shown on the website would be the 626 anniversary ale by Russell Brewing or the Three Philosipher’s by Ommegang Brewery. There is a good chance that you will find something new to try when you stop by Bitter, the list is regularly updated.

If you feel like drinking outside of the box the men behind the bar also have a list of beer cocktails which may seem outrageous to some people, but don’t knock them until you try them; The Milkwaukee Float would be a good one to start with. Chocolate, Coffee and Beer…How can you go wrong?!
