Covenant House holding pride event for homeless LGBT youth

Dec 20 2017, 12:32 am

Covenant House is holding a pride party fundraiser event at Steel Toad Pub for homeless LGBT youth.

According to Covenant House, 40% of the 200 homeless youth that come through their facilities identify as LGBT and were kicked out of their homes for that reason.

The fundraiser includes raffles with prizes such as kiteboarding lessons, stand-up paddle lessons, dragon boat rentals, and one month of free parkour lessons. Other prizes include gift certificates to various Olympic Village businesses.

There will be stand-up comedy by Nick Pound and musical performances by Mark Woodyard.

100% of the proceeds raised go directly to Covenant House. Tickets are $20.

And don’t forget to wear your loudest Hawaiian shirt.
