BC health officials report 146 new coronavirus cases since Friday

BC health officials said on Tuesday that 146 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the province since Friday.

During a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said this includes 43 new cases between Friday and Saturday, 29 new cases between Saturday and Sunday, 46 new cases between Sunday and Monday, and 28 new cases between Monday and Tuesday.

By specific health region, Henry said this equates to 1,119 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,989 in Fraser Health, 146 on Vancouver Island, 377 in Interior Health, and 91 people in Northern Health, and 65 from those who reside outside the province.

There are currently 310 active cases in the province, with eight people in hospital as a result, and four of these in intensive care.

There have been no new deaths in this same time period, however, leaving the provincial death toll at 195.

A total of 3,272 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province, as well.
