BC health officials said on Monday that 131 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the province since Friday.

During a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said this includes 50 new cases between Friday and Saturday, 37 new cases between Saturday and Sunday, and 44 new cases between Sunday and Monday.

By specific health region, Henry said this equates to 1,220 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 2,139 in Fraser Health, 148 on Vancouver Island, 399 in Interior Health, and 96 people in Northern Health, and 71 from those who reside outside the province.

The latest cases brings the total number of recorded cases in the province to 4,065.

There are currently 445 active cases in the province, “across all health authorities” in the province, said Henry. Out of these active cases, nine people are in hospital, and three of these are in intensive care.

There have been no new deaths in this same time period, however, leaving the provincial death toll at 195.

A total of 3,425 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province, as well.
