For those of us who consider it Halloween from September 1 to October 31, fall activities, pumpkin patches, and a haunted house or corn maze are almost always on the agenda.

To mark the beginning of spooky season, on September 21, Maan Farms is back with their 5th Annual Fall Festival, including their annual haunted corn maze — “the scariest corn maze in Canada.”

The 45-minute experience takes place on over five-acres on the farm, featuring terrifying installations, live actors, real chainsaws, and excerpts from classic horror movies.

Those hoping to up the scare-factor don’t have to look much further either, because this year, Maan farms is debuting ‘Pitch-Black: Where Darkness Grabs You’ — a 15-minute experience that places you right in the middle of your worst nightmares.

During the ‘Pitch-Black” attraction, guests will be confronted by a number of “demons of the dark.” Those who choose to engage may be touched, held back, sent into hidden passageways and even temporarily removed from their group.

Sounds terrifying — sign us up.

For the more faint of heart —  and for families and children — there is still a lot to see and do at Maan Farms that doesn’t involve crippling fear and high-pitched screams, including a pumpkin patch, kid-friendly corn maze, photo-ops with Disney princesses, a petting zoo, a play area, delicious food, and so much more.

Currently, 300 discounted early bird tickets for both the Haunted Corn Maze and Pitch-Black will be released Saturday, September 14 at 9 am on Maan Farms’ website.
