Achieving our fitness and wellness goals is at the top of our to-do list, no matter what time of year.

That’s why we’re thrilled by the news that Core Community, the Vancouver-based Pilates studio founded by Mira Lutsky Buchan, has expanded to Yaletown.

Founded in 2020, Core Community has built a community around its expert instruction, intimate classes, inclusive environment, and beautiful spaces in Kits, on Main Street, and its third location at 310-1152 Mainland St.

And with its acquisition of Form Body Lab as its first downtown studio with additional clinical offerings, Core is ready to support and inspire longtime visitors and newcomers on their journeys.

“This new location feels like a natural evolution for us,” said Buchan in a release.

“It gives us the opportunity to bring Pilates and clinical care closer together, and create a space where our community can access even more of the tools they need to feel their best.”

After receiving her comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body Education in California, Buchan returned home to Vancouver and eventually became a highly sought-after Pilates instructor.

However, she recognized a gap in Vancouver for a Pilates studio that combined effective, high-quality instruction with accessibility, community, and an atmosphere that felt genuinely enjoyable.

In July 2020, she founded Core Community Kitsilano, followed by Core Community Main Street in April 2024 and the expansion into Yaletown in 2026.

Core Community’s first downtown location continues the boutique reformer Pilates studio signature approach to wellness and movement.

The Yaletown location will be the first to offer physiotherapy, registered massage therapy, lymphatic drainage, and osteopathy for clients.

Sessions at Core Community are tailored to each client’s body and goals, helping support those recovering from an injury, managing pain, or seeking to improve the way they move.

Core Community has added these expanded offerings at its newest location, as it believes that feeling and moving better extends beyond the studio.

The Pilates studio uses state-of-the-art equipment, including reformers, towers, springboards, and Wunda chairs. All instructors have completed rigorous training programs.

Guests will also enjoy small class sizes, expert instructors, and equipment-based training, with private one-to-one sessions available alongside group classes.
