Coquitlam RCMP are seeking the public’s help after a man attempted to lure a 12-year-old girl into his car as she was walking home from school.

“The man slowed down his vehicle, he rolled down the passenger side window, and he offered to give her an iPod or iPad if she would get in,” Cpl. Jamie Chung said.

Mounties say the girl refused and continued to walk home. She was able to lose him when he got stuck at a red light.

Chung says the girl did “everything right” in refusing the man’s offer, getting home quickly and telling her parents.

The man is described as caucasian between 35 to 40 years of age, balding with blond-brown hair on the sides and stubble on his face. He was wearing a t-shirt at the time.

His vehicle is a white, four-door sedan with a grey interior, possibly leather. It had some dirt on the exterior and there was garbage and clutter inside.

Anyone with information is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.
