We were first to let you know that the Superman: Man of Steel sequel will not be filming in Vancouver. While many doubted the news, it has now been confirmed as the movie is set to film in Michigan and  Ontario as we first reported.

The upcoming Superman and Batman movie received $35 million in incentives from Michigan. While in B.C. we still have yet to match the credits film producers receive in Ontario and Quebec.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the sequel to Man of Steel will bring in close to $131 million US of in-state spending. Exterior shooting will take place in Detroit, while studio filming will move to Toronto.

That’s money that the B.C. government will not see, plus hundred and thousands of missed jobs opportunities.

Filming is to begin in Detroit in early 2014.

The film is expected to feature Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman and once again directed by Zach Snyder.
