Vancouver's largest winter food truck festival returns this month

Save your last meal of 2018 for the smorgasbord of food trucks that will takeover Canada Place Way in downtown Vancouver for Concord’s New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration on December 31, 2018.

The free food truck festival within a festival throughout the night will feature nearly 20 of the city’s top food trucks, providing thousands of revellers with warm and hearty foods.

Revellers are invited to come hungry to try dishes from food trucks such as Crab Park Chowdery, Japadog, Los Taco’s, Original Hurricane Potato, Real Mac and Cheese, and Urban Wood Fire Pizza.

Other festival favourites include funnel cakes, mini donuts, greek donairs and wraps, and kettle corn.

The New Year’s Eve celebration also includes a free outdoor street party at Jack Poole Plaza, where the city’s top DJs and street performers will be entertaining all night long. The evening reaches its peaks with two spectacular fireworks shows at 9 pm (5 minutes long) and the intense midnight countdown show (10 minutes long).

For those looking for an even better way to bid farewell 2018 and ring in 2019, there will be a premium indoor party held inside the West Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The bulk of this year’s live entertainment lineup, with headliners such as The Tourist Company and Shawn Austin, as well as interactive art installations and delightful surprises, will be located inside at the ticketed indoor party. A Celebration Pass is required to enter this space, which provides indoor viewing of the fireworks through the convention centre’s giant floor-to-ceiling windows.

Children seven years old and younger can attend the indoor party for free, making the indoor party’s warm environment and washrooms ideal for the little ones.
