April has to be one of the best months for concerts. Besides warmer weather and longer daytime hours, bands are touring in preparation for the upcoming summer festival season. Although some of these shows are sold out, look out for these artists next time around. There’s a reason they made the top 10 concerts to check out in Vancouver this month.

The indie-pop Scottish band haven’t toured in years, and their recent tour announcement was met with many immediate sold-out shows. Twin Shadow

Probably one of the best albums of the year so far, Twin Shadow is often an under-rated indie pop artists. Twin Shadow, who toured extensively last year in support of his latest album “Eclipse”, is American singer and writer George Lewis Jr. His tour continues this year, and he is taking part in the international festival circuit once more. Touring with Swedish singer-songwriter Erik Hassle, this is an incredible indie double-bill.

Jose Gonzalez

The remarkable Swedish indie folk singer-songwriter sold out his show soon tickets were released, and it is no surprise. Jose Gonzalez creates magic with his music, in a stripped pure state in which music was meant to be heard. From his 2006 single “Heartbeats” to his latest “Leaf Off/The Cave”, Gonzalez has captured a dedicated fan base globally. If you miss him this time and enjoy acoustic melodies, concert or not, Jose Gonzalez is highly recommended.
