Concert Preview: R&Bass DJ Kastle brings sexy bass back

Dec 19 2017, 5:23 pm

Get ready to groove, dance and fall in love next week, Vancouver. The much anticipated return of bass/R&B producer Kastle is finally here as he hits the stage at Celebrities on Jan. 22.

With the release of his debut album, Kastle, last year, the Pittsburgh native and California transplant began his first North American live tour in May 2013. His tour included a stop in Vancouver, and at the Shambhala Music Festival where he captivated the audience with his bass-heavy, yet soulful twist. Kastle – whose real name is Barrett Richards – delivers a distinctive sound filled with various remixes and original productions. Prior to his recent album, Kastle was perhaps known for one of the most beautiful musical samplings with his single Stay Forever (which sampled Alicia Keys’ No One). Stay Forever was one of the iTunes Top 10 Best Electronic Songs of 2012.

A mastermind of his genre, very appropriately named “R&Bass” by some, Kastle has collaborated with other talented artists resulting in some melancholic melodies with his signature bass. An example for this would be “Make You Stay,” featuring JMSN. The Motown melody, combined with the bass and powerful vocals, results in a mesmerizing four-minutes which will make you want to groove, dance and fall in love all at once.

Although his music is enjoyed thoroughly on headphones, you can experience Kastle’s music in full effect during his show next week presented by Blueprint Events & Regime Present. And while you’re at it, don’t miss opening acts KLINE, Dubconscious and Decibel Empire at Celebrities that night.
Get groovin’, Vancouver, and don’t forget to fall in love.
